Sanitation Technician

Reports To: Sanitation Lead

Job Scope:

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for working under the supervision of Sanitation Lead to perform cleaning and sanitation of production and non-production areas including but not limited to sanitation of floors, ceilings, surfaces, equipment, tools and other such items as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a critical role in Sugarbud’s continued success and growth.  The role is accountable for the following:

  • Responsible for performing out area-specific washing tasks with high attention to detail per SOP’s;
  • Responsible for maintaining person protective equipment (PPE) and provided tools;
  • Ability to perform sanitation tasks such as handling chemicals, dry clean-up, rinsing, chemical spraying applications, manual scrubbing and self-inspection;
  • Collecting and disposing of facility waste;
  • Performing spot or emergency cleaning as required;
  • Adequate understanding of health and safety related to chemical SDS’s, WHMIS;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Sanitation Lead;
  • Providing feedback and/or suggestions for continuous improvement(s);
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by reporting any issues, hazards, or concerns to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma;
  • At least 2 years of previous experience relevant to sanitation;
  • Knowledge of Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is considered an asset;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Health Canada CTLS clearance preferred;
  • Ability to obtain Health Canada CTLS security clearance if required;
  • Complete all training and safety requirements;
  • Willing to provide a criminal record is requested by the Company.

Working Conditions

  • Must be willing to relocate or commute to Stavely, Alberta;
  • Working in an environment where Cannabis is present;
  • Available via telephone when needed;
  • Ability to work in hot and humid environments;

Quality Assurance Associate

Reports To: QAP (Director of Quality Assurance)

Job Scope:

The Quality Assurance Role at Sugarbud is responsible is to measure and observe whether the current product and processes meet a set of quality standards for the production of high-quality cannabis which will be produced on a commercial scale in a licensed facility. To implement policies and procedures and enforce GAP, GPP, GMP, HACCP and Quality Assurance standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

This is a critical role in Sugarbud’s continued success and growth.  The role is responsible, but not limited to, for the following:

  • Measure the quality of products using a pre-defined set of criteria;
  • Assists the QAP in managing the Quality Management System (QMS);
  • Record information on products which do not conform to standards in the ‘QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM – COMPLIANCE’ Module;
  • Ensures that all processing activities are carried out as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), at all times, to result in consistent quality medical marijuana products;
  • Assures compliance with in-house and/or external specifications and standards, such as GMP, GGP, GPP, GDP, CR etc.;
  • Liaise with Cultivation team and others involved in production to create plans to improve quality;
  • Implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products;
  • Monitor process control points and take measures to eliminate deviations;
  • Writes, reviews, and updates SOPs and policies to ensure continuous compliance;
  • Ensures and monitors adherence to all facility SOPs relating to current GMPs and other applicable regulations; including but not limited to Change Controls, Deviations, Recalls, Returns and Customer Complaints;
  • Responsible for training of site management and employees on applicable SOPs and GMP related topics. Responsibilities include the planning, execution and maintenance of employee training records as well as testing to ensure training effectiveness;
  • Participate in internal audits for GPP and QA. This includes addressing Deviations, Corrective and Preventative actions;
  • Monitor supplier performance. Work with operations to resolve quality issues with production inputs;
  • Ensure integrity of oil products, including oversight of annual and semi-annual inventories. Investigate variances and reconciliations;
  • Assist in sampling of raw materials and finished goods for testing and retention purposes, when applicable;
  • Spot trends in production line’s output that veers from expected quality;
  • Segregate all products and materials that fail to meet specifications or criteria;
  • Make suggestions as to how the quality process can be improved;
  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas at all times;
  • Complete all training and safety requirements;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Work as a team player;
  • Must carry and use personal swipe card and personal code to access secured areas.

Qualifications

  • Must be familiar with the provisions of the Cannabis Regulations and the Food and Drugs Act;
  • Must have read and be familiar with Sugarbud’s company policies and procedures;
  • Health Canada CTLS clearance preferred;
  • Ability to obtain Health Canada CTLS security clearance if required;
  • Knowledge of Cannabis, grow systems, procedures and growth stages;
  • Solid knowledge and comprehension of Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP);
  • Attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to multitask and to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing situations is essential;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Willing to provide a criminal record is requested by the Company.

Temporary Plant Health Technician

Title: Plant Health Technician
Reports To: Master Grower (Director of Cultivation)

Job Scope:

The Plant Health Technician at Sugarbud is responsible to uphold the integrity and quality of Cannabis throughout the growth and harvesting stages. This role will work closely with the Master Grower for the Stavely site and assist Lead Grower(s) with directed daily tasks pertaining to overall plant health and development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is a critical role in Sugarbud’s continued success and growth.  The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Knowledge of cannabis plants, growing methodologies and plant growth stages;
  • Assist in plant growth activities such as, but not limited to, seed propagation, cloning, transplanting, transferring, nutrient delivery, defoliation, stress training, plant health assessments, integrated pest management, plant material destruction, harvesting;
  • Adhere to and participate in (if required) production scheduling;
  • Assist in monitoring overall plant health and crop yield;
  • Execute against pre-planned nutrient regimes;
  • Perform water, nutrient and soil tests as per MG/QA directives;
  • Adhere to Sugarbud sanitization program;
  • Take on various duties as required, multitask and shift priorities as directed;
  • Document all work as per SOP’s, GPP and Master Grower requirements;
  • Assist Shipping/Receiving Manager to re-stock tools and materials as needed;
  • Assist in monitoring and modifying production inventory requirements;
  • Strive to exceed company goals and objectives;
  • Follow coordinated daily activities to determine opportunities for improvement in productivity, efficiency and quality;
  • Complete and adhere to all training and safety requirements;

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older;
  • Applicant will be required to successfully complete police background check;
  • Experience working in a cannabis facility or production line as a cultivation technician considered an asset;
  • Must be familiar with the provisions of the Cannabis Act/Regulations and the Food and Drugs Act;
  • Must have read and be familiar with Sugarbud company policies and procedures;
  • Argus/Fertigation/Irrigation experience considered an asset;
  • IPM certification considered an asset;
  • Exhibits a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and vigilance;
  • Ability to obtain Health Canada CTLS security clearance.
